Experimental group was a class of incoming clerkship students at Maine Medical Center (n=36).  This group was compared to another group of incoming medical students at University of Vermont College of Medicine (n=41).

Will a workshop providing guidance on objective writing and learning contract construction aid in feedback obtained by new medical students?

According to surveys, students who went through the workshop appeared to have improved perceptions on their progress, performance, feedback, and developing personal learning goals.  However, the number of formal meetings between students and mentors were not higher among the experimental group.
